A friendly mom and pop restaurant where the food is excellent and the atmosphere comfortable. They have the best chipped beef. The Waite staff is friendly. A good place to meet for breakfast or any other time. We usually come for breakfast. The prices are moderate and the quality of food is excellent. You won't be sorry. Try them.

Home Place Restaurant sits in a rather forlorn older strip center on Bristol Road in Bensalem, PA. This is the latest in a line of restaurants that have made a run at a successful kitchen at this location. It shares the strip with a Wawa, which offers indirect competition for coffee and breakfast sandwiches with its neighbor.
The house is pretty large with several dozen tables, a high display with desserts, and two HDTVs on the wall. The furnishings are new utilitarian, but there is a dark carpet on the floor which is never a sanitary solution compared to a hard surface that can be swept, mopped and vacuumed clean. Service was friendly and attentive. My small coffee mug was refilled twice without need to ask. Breakfast menu is larger than many restaurants, and although Home Place is not a traditional diner, and lacks a counter service, it did have a broad breakfast list with morning specials at very low prices.
I opted for their Greek omelet with special request to put the home fries inside, rather than on the plate. That always adds substance to the eggs and allows the potatoes to integrate with the rest of the ingredients. Tastes better to me. The plate arrived ten minutes later looking quite good. The three eggs had been mixed with the feta cheese, onion, pepper and spuds, rather than left as a shell. I prefer this approach, although it was no longer a true omelet. It was pretty good, but needed more than a shake of black pepper and salt to bring up the flavor. The feta, while salty, was not in sufficient abundance to offset the need for sodium chloride. The rye toast was lightly buttered and a good complement to the eggs. The coffee was strong and hot.
No serious complaints about Home Place. It was pretty much a decent breakfast, but lacking any WOW factor. The location and clientele do not permit prices necessary to do things to make the space and offerings more attractive and intriguing, yet does provide a substantial meal which should not be disregarded. -

Our go to local breakfast spot. Much better than any of the diners on Street Road. We have only tried the breakfast, but we have tried a fair amount of options and they've all been good. You should get the scrapple.

It was a nice simple family type of place. Basically a diner. My wife had a fruit salad and I had poached eggs on spicy sausage. The eggs and sausage were very tasty. It's served with kaiser roll, which was un buttered. Luckily I got has browns as well. The service was great. Thanks Hailey!! Over all it was a nice place to grab a bite.

Just came here for breakfast and it was fantastic! The omelet, potatoes, coffee were all so good. The food came out super fast and the place was super clean! I'm looking forward to go back and try something from the dinner menu!
